I have recently started a university project called '100 Heads', were you show a representation of a human in any way you can think of. Whether that be drawing, painting, collage, or digitally produced. I am really enjoying doing it as it is giving me new ideas and inspiration to do things i haven't done before.

Book Review
I Today finished this book called "If you find me" by Emily Murdoch and i actually really enjoyed it. It was one of those books that once i got into i read majority of the book in two days. I initially couldn't get into it but as i read more of the book at one time i became immersed. Without giving to much away its about two sisters who have been living in there woods with there meth addicted mother. There 'Mama' leaves for weeks at a time and they are left to fend for themselves, that is until there dad comes to take them home after over 10 years. All seems well until Carey struggles with keeping a secret of what happened in the woods. Because 'What happens in the woods, stays in the woods'. But this time it isn't the case.

Nail design.
These are the nail designs i am sporting this week. I love painting my nails and trying different patterns but this time i tried something abit different. I used models own for the pink base colour. The black is rimmel, the while is also models own and the silver is from Avon. I used a hair grip to add the dots, which took ages to do 10 nails but i really love the nail on a whole. Hopefully they last the whole week.
Blue hair dont care.
I recently dyed my hair blue. I have had my hair dip dyed for about a year and i love experementing with colours. The top of my hair is a cheatnut brown and works well with quite alot of colours. I started off with blonde on the tips, usually known as ombre which ive had for most of the year and a colour i and the most comftable with. In October i dip dyed my hair a vibrant pink/red, i really loved the brightness and kept this colour choice for  about 2 months buf changed back to blonde because it faded quite alot. Last week i was feeling a little down and i always find that changing something always makes me feel better, so i opted for blue. Its extremly bright and because of the previous tones of blonde i had before the blue has so many tones of blue and turquoise which i love. I will probably keep this colour for 6-8 weeks but so far i am loving it, especially in different plats and braids.

'The fault in our stars'
Like most of the internet i am obsessed with 'the fault in our stars'. I first read the book as soon as it was released in 2012t. When reading the book i cried more than ive ever cried whilst reading any other book. I think the story is incredibly beautiful and even though it is essentially about cancer and dying, the thing i took away from it is the whole infinity thing. That everyone can have there own infinity no matter how long it last's.

When it was released that there would be a film i was over the moon, but also worried that like in previous cases, the film wouldnt do the book the justice it deseverd. I have seen the film twice and it did not dissapoint, infact it was phenomenal and stayed so true to the book, Shailene Woodley  and Ansel Elgort were the perfect Hazel and Gus. As soon as i came back from the cinema i started reading the book again, well listening. I bought the audiobook which ive never really got into before but this one really captivated me. All in all i f****ng live this story, it makes me so emotional but also thankful for what i have.

Wolfia Finished
I finally finished my wolf drawing after about 6 weeks working on it. Because of the intricate detail i struggled doing alot at one time. Overall i really liked how it turned out, the idea i had in my head is quite different with alot less blocked black but i think the black contrasts well with the small pattern.

Book review
I recently finished the book Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, i had heard a lot of hype around this book and had to give it a go. And it didn't disappoint. Without giving away too much the book is about a girl called Cath, who is an introverted self proclaimed 'fangirl'. She writes fan-fiction and struggles adjusting the university life. I really related to this book because i am also very introverted and like to keep myself to myself so it really resented with me. There is romance, sister love, and humour within this book and i would definitely recommend it if you fancy an easy read.

Current work
Having finished my first year of university i've found that having so much time on your hands can be boring. For a while I've been taking a creative break catching up on TV and just having time to catch my breath. Now i have started a new sketchbook for no particular thing just to try some new things and practice my drawing. I am in the process of drawing a pattern wolf. These are my results so far, its taking longer than i though because pattern work is so much detail.

This year i took a trip to Lanzerote and had some really amazing experiences. The location was beautiful the weather was glorious and it was genrally a really fun time. I also got a chance to do some really interesting photography. I love photography and being in such a beautiful setting was pure bliss for me. We went to a zoo called texas rancho which was very cowboy themed, but the animals, my favorite being the otters were aborable. We also went to the markets, into costa tequese market and go karting so genrally the holiday was a real memorable experience.

                                                Books books books.

I've recently bought some new books, even thought i have millions which i haven't yet read. I just love buying books.

Its a pretty random collection starting with More Than This by Patrick ness, when i saw this in water stones i initially picked it up because of the cover, as you can tell from my blog i love the black/yellow combination. From what i can tell the book is about a boy who drowns and dies (i no cheery) but wakes up in another world. This kind of fantasy style book is right up my street.

Second i bought another because i loved the cover called If You Find Me by Emily Murdoch which sounds like a really interesting story line about a girl who lives in the woods with her sister and drug addict mother who are then found by a stranger. For some reason i thing of the film Mama which i hated but it sounds like a real page turner.

I then got Everyday by David Levithan, I have read 2 Levithan books before those being Will Grayson, Will Grayson and boy meets boy. I found his books through john green and really love the way he writes his characters. This seems to be about a boy who wakes up as a different person everyday, (i would love to do that).

Then theres Lets explore diabetes with owls by David Sedaris which to be honest i don't no much about. Apparently its life story of the author but i bought it because i really liked the name of it, and there were a lot of good reviews on goodreads.com

Finally is a creepy book called Rats by James Herbert, and again this was a cover bye, which has a the corner missing from rat like bites. I have started reading this and so far its really creepy and gruesome about giant man eating rats. I started it on an airplane and stopped because it made me feel sick, but i will eventually pick it up again.

                                                    HI.

My name is beth and i am starting this blog for no particular reason expect boredom. I study at Salford university and am a self acclaimed 'artsy person'. I am unashamed to say that i create art a lot, like taking pictures and being as my dad says 'Hippy Dippy'. I live on this magical island inside my head were things are strange and weird and being creative is what fuels this magical island. This blog will be a place to collect things of interest like what books and music I'm loving, what photos I'm taking, what products I'm using and probably a load of other random things so yeah, bye.
